Affordable Helicopters

History of Helicopters

A helicopter is a type of aircraft that is hugely versatile and is used in numerous situations from military helicopters, to fire fighting helicopters, and even corporate or personally owned private helicopters. Their versatility is different from an aeroplane as a helicopter is capable of taking off and landing vertically, and is in fact only capable of vertical take off and landing.

There are a number of helicopter historians who believe that the very first concept for a helicopter was designed by Leonardo da Vinci, but the design is quite different from what could be termed a modern day helicopter. The very first helicopter that was capable of flight was the Focke-Wulf Fw 61, which was first put into operation back in 1936. Since that first helicopter the designs have not changed too much when looking at a helicopter from the outside, although the insides are immeasurably different. These newer innovations allow for both faster and safer flights, a great advantage for anyone interesting in either owning their own helicopter or looking to take a ride on one as a tourist.

Owning your own helicopter, whether a fully kitted out luxury helicopter or a bare bones helicopter that is better suited to making shorter hops around a city has never been easier or cheaper. Of course there’s always a second hand market for all vehicles which can help new owners enter the helicopter market with a lower price, but as advances in technology also help to lower prices, helicopter ownership is also likely to become much more prolific in the coming years.

Which clothing to wear while you ride in a helicopter can be a matter of personal choice, at least for the riders of the helicopter. Pilots will generally have a uniform, although if you own your own helicopter and you are a qualified pilot, you might even be able to get away with wearing stylish motorbike jackets as opposed to a classic uniform. If you are lucky enough to be the owner of a large luxury helicopter that has a more sound proofed cabin, then smart clothing seems to be the order of the day for most riders. After all, if you’re willing to invest in a luxury helicopter it only seems right to wear stylish clothing while you take your trips.

When you look into buying your first helicopter, it’s important to give some thought about what you intent to use your helicopter for. If you are looking to make longer trips most of the time, you might even be better off thinking about buying an aeroplane, but for anyone looking to take shorter trips within a city, or even shorter trips between cities, a helicopter might just be exactly what you need.
