Affordable Helicopters

What are Ultralight Helicopters?

Ultralight helicopters are the solution to flying cheaply. They may be small and home built, but they operate just like regular helicopters. And they provide an excellent option for people looking to hop for recreational reasons. Prices of these toys can go as low as £15,000, but you need training before trying to operate one.

For starters, you have to get a Private Pilot Licence (PPL) if you’re not in the US – preferably, train with the Robinson R22. Most of these home -build helicopters are DIY versions of the R22, so you can never go wrong with it.

What it takes to build a homemade helicopter

Building a homemade chopper is not by any chance an easy task, it requires over 300 hours of serious work. So, if you are not ready to put in that much money, you are better off buying a ready-made ultralight helicopter. Other than that, you need plan reading skills, workshop tools, and some welding experience.

Performance

Most homemade rotters have a range of between 129 km to 240 Km traveling at an average speed of 100 km/h. That is a pretty decent performance. So now you can finally conquer the skies just like you saw it in your dreams.
